Mandarin Color Games for Preschoolers
A listening and color-matching activity for Mandarin-speaking and bilingual families with children ages 3-6. Start with red and yellow: hear a Mandarin prompt, then tap the matching color character. Mandarin play opens Chinese game text and Mandarin prompts. Start together; reading Chinese or speaking aloud is not required.
Exiting a Mandarin game opens the game library in your saved site language, or Chinese if no language is saved.
Start with Beginner
Beginner offers two colors. Try it together before adding more color words; familiarity with colors and understanding their Mandarin names are different skills. Each link opens the start screen for an adult to check the settings.
With question count set to Auto, Beginner, Easy and Normal end after 4, 6 and 8 correct choices. Saved question count and sound settings still apply; check them on the start screen and turn voice prompts on.

Parent Tips
- Show how to replay the Mandarin prompt and tap once, then let your child choose.
- If the words are unfamiliar, point to red and yellow examples and name them before trying another prompt. Repeating aloud is optional.
- Away from the screen, place one large, safe red object and one yellow object within reach. Ask your child to point to one color; stop when they want to stop.
- Add more colors only when fewer choices feel comfortable. Finishing a game is not a test of independent Mandarin proficiency.
